One thing I love (amongst many) about working with couples from all of the the nation, is that I get to meet the most amazing people of all different backgrounds and professions! Melanie and Dave are both arborists and met through work! They are from Ohio, but get to travel all over America working together. Because Melanie and Dave are avid outdoors lovers, we met up at one of my favorite hiking trails for their engagement session. I just knew this trail would be perfect for these two arborists!Read More

Well, y’all! Another year has come and past and I am just in utter awe of all of the adventures from this past year! I am so incredibly grateful for all of the couples that I’ve been able to meet and capture on such a special day, and everyone who has supported me, collaborated with me, and helped make this year downright amazing. As per end-of-year tradition, it’s time to view the best images of 2018! I have loved sitting down at the end of each year to put together my favorite images captured during each session or wedding! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and cheers to 2019! May it be full of love, laughter, and adventures together!Read More
Spring is finally here, which means the grass is turning green, the trees are budding, birds are chirping, and of course, engagement sessions! I absolutely love shooting engagement, anniversary, and couple's sessions with my adventurous couples. It's so fun to explore, hang out, get to know each other and enjoy nature without the added pressure of a timeline on a wedding day!
Since these sessions aren't appointments that we regularly schedule, I know it can sometimes feel awkward to be in front of the lens (I still am). That's what I'm here for- to guide you and help make your session a comfortable and fun experience for both you and your fiancé/significant other! One of the best ways to feel more comfortable at the session is to plan out what you'll be wearing.
Of course, most of the photos you see below are from engagement sessions, but I wanted to note that it translates to anniversary or couple's sessions as well! Any portrait session where there are two of you to coordinate/prepare!Read More
Daisy and Zach were married at the lodge at Sugar Hollow Retreat in Butler, Tennessee. The original plan had been to have the ceremony on the lawn and reception under the tent, but Mother Nature had other plans! We all kept glancing at the weather radars, silently hoping there would be a break in the rain. The forecast didn't give any sign of it giving up, so Daisy made the decision to go for Plan B and moved the ceremony under the tent. Shortly after, the two said, "I do," to the sound of raindrops pattering on the tent and underneath the twinkling string lights. Talk about a romantic way to become husband and wife!Read More
Hello, 2018! Nice to see you! If you guys read my Best of 2017 blog you know that I promised my first Behind-the-Scenes blog. Well, today I'm delivering! I know it's not as jam-packed as some behind-the-scenes, but there are still some great (and embarrassing) moments! I'm lucky to have had some awesome second shooters and friends who helped capture me in work-mode and some of the silly moments in between!Read More
We hiked up to the balds at Carver's Gap on a perfect Fall evening for Ryan and Sara's intimate Roan Mountain wedding. The sun was shining and the wind was just ever so slight, making for such a romantic evening. The grass had already turned to that beautiful golden color and caught the sun as Ryan and Sara said their vows on the mountainside, surrounded by their closest family.Read More
Caroline and Joe had originally planned to get married on Roan on the first Wednesday in September. Mother Nature, however, had a different plan! Due to Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma, rain lurked in the forecast. Since their wedding had been an intimate celebration, they were able to move their wedding day to avoid the rain! These two tied the knot on top of Roan Mountain despite the threat of afternoon showers and rocked their bride and groom portraits!Read More
For Daisy and Zach's engagement session, Daisy asked if we could hike up Roan and if they could bring their dog, Dixie, along. You guys already know by now that dogs and mountains are two of my favorite things and especially spending time with my couples, so it wasn't tough for me to say, "Of course!" We spent one of the last warm evenings on top of Roan with Zach, Daisy, and Dixie, and had a great time laughing all the way to sunset.Read More
Lexie and John Michael chose to get married on top of Round Bald on Roan Mountain, which (as you all know) has a piece of my heart. After two super sweet first looks (one with John Michael, and one with Lexie's dad), Lexie and her dad hiked up to the balds where the two would exchange vows. After their first kiss as husband and wife, Lexie and John Michael gave each other a huge high five, followed by a hug. We then took our time exploring the mountain in our Chacos for portraits. It was truly a perfect Summer evening on Roan Mountain.Read More
Alexis and John Michael are getting married on Roan this Summer! These two first met when they were younger, but fell in love when they saw each other at the same rock climbing gym. He's a carpenter and she's a biology major, and they couldn't be more perfect together. We met up at Grayson Highlands State Park for their engagement session and had an amazing time despite the crazy weather!Read More
