FROM NATURE LOVER TO PHOTOGRAPHER:

How it all began:

I am a born and raised Marylander, living in beautiful East Tennessee (Johnson City) with my husband, Andrew. I'm a wedding, engagement, and branding photographer for adventurous couples and those who love the outdoors!

I picked up my first camera in middle school — my dad’s old Canon AE-1 film camera— and fell in love. In high school, I decided to pursue photography for my career and made it my major in college.

I poured my heart and soul into my Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Photography and Digital Imaging at Virginia Intermont College— the magic of film and smell of developer & fixer still have a special place in my heart. After college, I assisted for several local wedding photographers and soon found my love for capturing moments and serving couples on wedding days— and have been for 7+ years!

This year I will photograph my 100th wedding and I’m still in awe and honored to be a part of so many special days!

Weddings, elopements, and engagements are my favorite things to photograph. I absolutely love creating and capturing moments that my couples will have to look back on forever. My dad passed away right after college and taught me just how important a photograph truly is. I now understand how important those moments and photographs are to hold on to and to cherish forever, for they could be gone in an instant. Ferris Bueller once said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” It amazes me each and every day just how blessed I am to be able to give these moments to others for them to enjoy and eventually pass down through their families for years.

Facts About Me

What is your go-to coffee order?

Honestly, I love hazelnut or caramel lattes with oat milk! When Fall comes around though, I’m a pumpkin spice girly all of the way!

What kind of music do you listen to?

My taste in music truly spans all genres (especially the 80’s), but I’m currently obsessed with Zach Bryan, Lizzy McAlpine, Noah Kahan, Taylor Swift, and Turnpike Troubadours.

What was your wedding like?

Andrew and I got married on the beach in the Outer Banks of North Carolina in September! We invited just our closest family and friends and has a relaxed reception!

What are your favorite places to hike?

I love hiking sections of the Appalachian Trail and hope to someday complete a few states! Linville Gorge in NC also has some amazing trails and views!

What do you do when you’re not working?

When I'm not taking photos, you can usually find me on the water in my kayak, hiking and relaxing in my hammock, or sitting on our porch with a glass of red wine!

If you weren’t photographing weddings, what would you capture?

Besides weddings, I absolutely love branding and outdoor lifestyle photography! I have always dreamed of taking photos of hiking shoes, camping products, kayaks and boats for outdoor brands!
