Homestead on the Holston: Canoe Free Spirit Bohemian Styled Elopement

All of this cold weather has me reminiscing back to this past Summer when the sunset was super late and the evenings were so warm! Even though I’m a Maryland native, I do not favor the cold!

I’m a part of a wonderful networking group full of creative entrepreneurs called TuesdaysTogether! I have met so many amazing and talented creatives and have made new friends in the area thanks to our group and community! One of the event planners that I was lucky to meet, Tricia Mosier of Elizabeth Dean Styled Events, invited me to take part in a one-of-a-kind styled shoot that she was putting together. She sent me a few of the inspiration photos, which included a canoe and a bohemian tee pee set up, and you KNOW I was down to participate! It was right up my alley!

We all gathered at the beautiful Homestead on the Holston, a historic cabin venue with lots of land next to the north fork of the Holston River. Tricia had a few set ups for us- a canoe in the water, a picnic blanket area, a bridal chair and the bohemian cake tee pee! When I saw all of the carefully curated details and my bride and groom for the evening, I did a bit of a happy dance— everything came together so beautifully and was so stunning! Chelsea Blount, from Blossom and Bloom florals, helped design as well, bringing her bohemian flare. I was so happy to finally meet Chelsea and see her gorgeous floral work! Just wait until you see the massive bouquet she brought (used at the bohemian cake tee pee)! I shot to my heart’s content, even jumped into the river (thanks Chacos) to get the water shots, until the sun finally set behind the mountains!

After the gallery had been sent to the vendors, we had a wonderful surprise happen- Green Wedding Shoes (a popular wedding blog) had reached out to publish one of the photos from the hanging cake display! We were all elated to have been featured! Check out the feature on Green Wedding Shoes here:

Tricia, Chelsea, and all other vendors— thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of such a fun evening! It was great working with you (as always) and I can’t wait for the next time we collaborate!

Also, thanks to Lara and Heath who were such great models and down for anything! You two are incredibly cute and I had such a blast photographing you!

Huge thanks to all vendors who came together to make this styled shoot so amazing!
