The Camp at Buffalo Mountain: Fall Mini Sessions Day

Mini sessions have become such a popular part of the photography industry! If you don’t know what a mini session is, it’s when a photographer books a venue or a specific location for a day (or multiple days) and then lines up multiple sessions in succession throughout the day! These sessions are usually 15-30 minutes each with a break in between (depending on the photographer) and include less photos than a normal gallery at a smaller price than a regular session. They really allow clients to get a handful of photos at a smaller price by photographers that they love! They’re usually held around popular holidays like Thanksgiving/Christmas (Christmas cards) and Valentine’s Day/Easter, etc!

In my years of being a professional photographer, I somehow never held a day of mini-sessions, but have seen how popular they’ve become. This past year, I thought it would be a great chance to dip my toes in the water and see what mini-sessions were all about! I asked my very good friends at The Camp at Buffalo Mountain if I could come on a Sunday in October and host mini-sessions at their beautiful venue. I chose the Camp for many reasons- not only do I just love the Cox family (owners), but obviously the camp is right up my alley with it’s many outdoor spaces, rustic charm, and of course- THE LEAVES! The Camp really made for a dreamy fall setting!

My sessions varied throughout the day, including one family session (I only offer family sessions on mini-session day), two maternity sessions, one anniversary session, and one couple’s session with their dog! I loved the variety of sessions, locations, and of course meeting everyone! Some clients were repeats/good friends while some I had just met! The weather turned out to be gorgeous and the Camp was the perfect venue for everyone.

Big thanks to the Cox family at the Camp at Buffalo Mountain for letting me set-up and hang out all day at the Camp! I had a blast and loved exploring the camp more (and enjoying the quietness all around)!

The Camp at Buffalo Mountain is a wedding venue and event/retreat center! They really have everything you need for any event, including lodging, and the owners are fantastic! Seriously, they such caring and kind people- they’ll take care of you and your guests on your big day!
