Ryan and Sara drove all of the way from Ocean Springs, Mississippi to meet up at Watauga Lake for their engagement session! We walked a few small trails and even stopped by the boat ramp to take some shots on the fishing pier. We ended the evening by watching the sunset right up against the shoreline as the waves crashed peacefully against the rocks. It was truly a perfect Summer evening by the lake!

Roan Mountain, TN: Alexis + John Michael's Intimate Summer Mountain Wedding on Round Bald

Lexie and John Michael chose to get married on top of Round Bald on Roan Mountain, which (as you all know) has a piece of my heart. After two super sweet first looks (one with John Michael, and one with Lexie's dad), Lexie and her dad hiked up to the balds where the two would exchange vows. After their first kiss as husband and wife, Lexie and John Michael gave each other a huge high five, followed by a hug. We then took our time exploring the mountain in our Chacos for portraits. It was truly a perfect Summer evening on Roan Mountain.

Two years ago, I was invited on my first backpacking trip with my friend Elizabeth and her group of friends who visit Panthertown Valley annually.
