One thing I love (amongst many) about working with couples from all of the the nation, is that I get to meet the most amazing people of all different backgrounds and professions!
Melanie and Dave are both arborists and met through work! They are from Ohio, but get to travel all over America working together. Melanie told me on their questionnaire, “We do anything from urban forestry to utility forestry to invasive species eradication work. Between the two of us we've worked in about 13 different states for our company.” I just think that’s an incredibly badass line of work— not to mention a great way to travel and and be outdoors!
Because Melanie and Dave are avid outdoors lovers, we met up at one of my favorite spots for their engagement session. I just knew this trail would be perfect for these two arborists! As we hiked to the waterfall, Dave and Melanie would point out all of the different species of trees and plants. I learned that there is a smaller version of a rhododendron called a “dwarf rhododendron,” as seen below! When we arrived at the waterfall, we had it all to ourselves! Thank goodness for Melanie and Dave’s adventurous spirit and Melanie’s Chacos (a girl after my own heart), for they waded through some higher waters for a photo in front of the waterfall. It was a humid day, but these two didn’t bat an eye at the, “stairs of doom,” (as I call them) and laughed the entire way!
Dave and Melanie — you two are so great together! I just love how Dave looks at you and makes you laugh. Both of your smiles are seriously contagious and I love that you share a passion for the outdoors!
