Michelle and Johnny were married at the Southwest Virginia 4H Center, at an amazing, rustic, outdoor amphitheater in the woods, surrounded by friends and family. The weather was absolutely perfect for their day- it was sunny but the air had a slight chill. It was one of the first days in September that actually felt like Fall!
When I talked to Michelle about their wedding day at our coffee date, and then again at their Beauty Spot engagement session, she had mentioned that they dreamed that their wedding would be more like a party for their guests! I can tell you, their dream came true! After these two music lovers exchanged vows, all of the guests made their way to the open pavilion to an outdoor party complete with delicious barbecue, rounds of cornhole, an awesome bluegrass band during cocktail hour, and a rock band to finish the evening with dancing! I think I can speak for Amanda and Chad (my amazing second shooters) when I say that we also had a great time jamming and rocking the night away alongside the guests!
I love all of the special details that these two had incorporated into their day, from the homemade jam favors to the wooden flower bouquets, to their antique "getaway" truck owned by Michelle's family, and everything in between! The venue itself also had a special meaning to Michelle and Johnny. They picked the 4H Center to be their venue for many reasons-- not only did it have all the buildings and space they needed to throw one hell of a party, but it was also a special place for Michelle. When she was younger, she had attended horse shows on the SWVA 4H campus! She loved the rustic wooden stalls and the memories made there with her mom, and now Johnny, too.
Johnny and Michelle - I am so incredibly happy for you two! Your wedding day was the perfect reflection of you and everything you both love. Thanks for asking me to be there to capture your day and rock the night away with you and your guests! Cheers!
Big thanks to Amanda and Chad for being my amazing second shooters!
