About a little over a month ago, on a sleepy Tuesday, I sat down at my computer to check my emails. As I took a sip of coffee and clicked on my inbox, my eyes grew bright and my heart fluttered-- Josh and Holly had emailed me about documenting their intimate wedding on Roan Mountain. I was so excited that I almost jumped out of my chair and had to find ways to hold myself back and not sound like a crazy person when I responded!
On Wednesday evening, we met up at Carver's Gap on Roan Mountain and hiked up to the balds with the officiant. There is always a chance of unexpected rain when you're up at such a high elevation, but that evening Roan was all blue skies and sunshine, and a few intermittent clouds. It was absolutely perfect.
We found a spot on Round Bald for the ceremony with amazing panoramic views, which I later found out that it was the exact spot that Josh had proposed to Holly. He said that it had been freezing and they could barely see anything due to ice and fog, but he was determined to propose that day, and of course, she said yes. Months later, the two spoke their vows as the wind softened on the bald.
Josh and Holly - you two are truly perfect together. Thank you so much for allowing me to witness and take part of your beautiful wedding! It was truly an honor!
