Josh and Lyndsey are engaged!! These two met and became friends back in middle school when Lyndsey changed schools. Josh's parents were missionaries and shortly after meeting Lyndsey, Josh moved with them across the world to Nepal. When AOL Instant Messenger grew to be the top messaging system on the internet, they would chat whenever Josh had electricity! Josh was able to visit Virginia a few times and he and Lyndsey would hang out together through the summer. They didn't start dating until Josh moved back to the states and asked Lyndsey to prom in high school. They've been together ever since!

Josh proposed one day while they were sitting at home watching Parks and Recreation on Netflix, and eating Ben & Jerry's ice cream! Josh asked Lyndsey if she wanted her birthday present (which was a few weeks prior) and gave her the Adventure Book-- a scrapbook filled with photos of the two of them through the years. In the back, there was a hole cut out in the pages containing Lyndsey's gorgeous engagement ring that Josh custom made! He was given a diamond from her granny's ring and the band and diamond from her mom's ring, and then added in a diamond for the two of them. Lyndsey, of course, said yes!

When Lyndsey sent me a photo of her and Josh with the ring on her hand, I definitely teared up in happiness! I first met Lyndsey in college as we were both in the Photography program. She transferred to a neighboring college and it wasn't until then that we became closer friends! Needless to say, I am thrilled and honored that Josh and Lyndsey asked me to be their wedding photographer!

I recently visited Staunton, Virginia to shoot their home engagement session and celebrate! Lyndsey is a dog trainer and photographer, so I thought it was fitting that we incorporate her pups Warden, Josie, and Dot in the photos! Warden and Josie are both Greater Swiss Mountain dogs and big sweethearts! Dot is the black lab and such a gentle soul. We had a great time shooting in Lyndsey's cute little house and chasing the sunset in her backyard! We hiked through a cow pasture where a ginormous tree provides shade and up the hills to a breathtaking view of the Virginia Blue Ridge.

Josh and Lyndsey - I just adore you two and your adventurous souls. I can't even describe how happy I am for you two! I can't wait for your upcoming wedding!
